Marca Terreno & Lay's Replay supporting Athletic Club Women at San Mamés

In collaboration with DIGI, at the start of the match against Real Madrid in San Mamés, four players from projects related to social inclusion and promoting women’s football took to the pitch with the Lionesses

This weekend, Athletic Club experienced a very special day during the match against Real Madrid at San Mamés.

In an event that gave visibility to the Athletic Club Foundation's Marca Terreno & Lay’s Replay project, four player from the Foundation's various projects related to women's football accompanied the Lionesses as they walke out this tunnel.

The moment highlighted the club's commitment to gender equality and inclusive sport. This event was made possible thanks to a new collaboration between Athletic Club and DIGI.

Marca Terreno is an initiative designed to promote football among girls who, for various reasons, have felt excluded from picking up the sport.

Aimed primarily at girls in Bilbao between 12 and 16 years of age, especially those from migrant families, the project seeks to offer them a safe space for learning through sport.

At the same time, it promotes football as a powerful socio-educational tool that improves physical and mental health, as well as fostering values such as belonging, tolerance, respect, commitment and teamwork.

This participation is part of the project's activities, which includes the creation of teams without level bias or a competitive focus, allowing the girls to have a positive and enriching sporting experience.

The Marca Terreno teams train weekly, and in addition to training and official competitions, they participate in activities focused on gender perspective, claiming football as a space that belongs to them and that they can make their own.

Thanks to the sponsorship of Lay's and the collaboration with Common Goal and the UEFA Foundation, the project continues to grow and offer new opportunities so that promising women footballers can continue to dream big and empower themselves through the sport.
