Foreign journalists visit Ibaigane before Europa League final

A group of accredited media staff got to a closer look at Athletic Club's philosophy and values before Wednesday's UEFA Europa League final

Throughout Tuesday morning, barely 24 hours before Bilbao hosts the UEFA Europa League final between Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United, a group of various accredited international journalists visited Athletic Club's official headquarters, Palacio Ibaigane.

The visitors learnt first-hand about the history, values and philosophy that make Athletic a unique club in the world. During the tours, the attendees were shown the building's most emblematic spaces, while Athletic Club staff explained our sporting model as well as the work done by our Foundation throughout Biscay and the Basque Country.

The journalists, which included representatives from Spurs, Sky Sports News (UK), TRT Sport (Turkey) and Oma Sports (Nigeria), received the initiative with great interest, many of them amazed by the cultural and social dimension that surrounds Athletic beyond football.

Staff from Manchester United had a chance to visit the club's facilities before their Europa League semi-final in Bilbao.

This event is part of the club's communication strategy, which aims to take advantage of major international events such as this week's final to make our identity better know among global audiences.
