Annual visit to the Basilica of Begoña
The Athletic Club first teams, accompanied by the Board of Directors, paid their traditional visit to the Basilica of Begoña to mark the start of the season
A large representation from Athletic Club's first teams, including our Genuine side, together with club president Jon Uriarte, Jose Angel Iribar, and a delegation from the Board of Directors, fulfilled the traditional offering to the Virgin of Begoña, patron saint of Bizkaia.
It's an event that has been held since 1930 and always attracts a number of Athletic fans to the basilica.
As usual, the president gave a short speech in which he expressed his appreciation and gratitude to the people who have kept the Zurigorri spirit alive for generations: Club Members, players, directors and Athletic fans in general.
Reception at Bilbao City Council, Basque Government, Bizkaia Provincial Council and Fundazioa companies
During the week, institutional receptions were also held at Ibaigane for the respective delegations from Bilbao City Council, the Basque Government and Bizkaia Provincial Council.
Athletic Club Fundazioa also welcomed around 100 representatives from its partner companies.
Reception for Club Members at Ibaigane
In addition, around thirty Club Members had the opportunity to visit the Ibaigane Palace and exchange impressions with Jon Uriarte and various club directors at the traditional Aste Nagusia reception.
