1. Athletic Club has received one report of RFEF where we are informed that in the control made on 1 September 2002 after the League match Real Sociedad-Athletic Club, our player Carlos Gurpegi Nausia gave values of 19 nor-androsterone higher than the considered physiologicals.

2-Athletic Club wants to put on record that his player hasn’t consumed aforementioned substance, or similars, or have been provided for club’s part of the medical services of the entity.
In this sense we want to express our complete confidence both in the trajectory and behaviour of the player, and in the trajectory and behaviour of our medical services.
In the same way, Athletic Club declares that we will put at his disposal all the technical and legal services with the purpose of clearing up the origen of the mentioned index.

3-Athletic Club has requested the countertest about the valid regulations and will communicate to the suitable organizations that is at their total disposal to make all the appropiate test in order to show that Carlos Gurpegi Nausia hasn’t consumed aforementioned substance and that, as in other cases have happened, this one has a different origen to the consumption for the player’s part.

4-In order to clear up the doubts and answer the questions of the mass media, the sport manager Andoni Zubizarreta, the boss of the medical services, Sabino Padilla and the same player, Carlos Gurpegi, will offer tomorrow Wednesday 11 December a press conference at 12.30 hours in Lezama.
