Athletic Club, again in Vienna

The Athletic Club first team is once again in Vienna, after having set off from Bilbao airport with a slight delay (11:30 hours) motivated by problems caused by icy roadways for several members of the expedition. They finally arrived at 13:45 hours in Vienna Airport from where they were transferred to the Hilton Hotel. Contrary to last week, the sun has received the rojiblancos, although as the afternoon advanced grey skies have taken over the panorama. All of this and with a temperature similar to that left behind at the Biscayan capital: 0 degrees.

On Wednesday, at 17:00 hours the referee, Alon Yefet, is scheduled to inspect the condition of the playing field, where Austria Vienna will train at 17:30 hours, just as our team will do at 19:30 hours. During the official training previous to Thursday’s match, the febrile process which Dani Aranzubia is suffering will be evaluated. Coach Ernesto Valverde will offer a press conference at 19:00 hours.

On the local’s side, their joy to see around 60 fans in comparison to the 4,000 that gathered for last week’s appointment in Vienna is undeniable. Until the moment, they have sold 17,850 tickets. On the sports aspect, Kiesenebner is still doubtful.
