Ex players: Alavés 0 – Athletic Club 3

After a two-year break and as a result of a meeting which was held on 10 October, a decision has been made by President Fernando Lamikiz, José Angel Iribar, Daniel Ruiz-Bazán and the Athletic Club Ex-players Association (AEA). Together, it has been decided that the AEA will participate once more in friendly matches, most of which will be in aid of charity.

The Ex- Red-White players train almost every Thursday and on Sunday, 4 December participated in their first friendly encounter. Athletic played against the Deportivo Alavés veterans at “El Glorioso” (Betoño) facilities in Gasteiz at 11:00 hours. The aim of the match was to raise money for Javier Maestre, an amateur football player, who was seriously injured during a match.

Result: Alavés 0 – Athletic Club 3. The three goals were scored by Joseba Aguirre.
