IX Piru Gainza Tournament – Athletic Champions

A new edition of the International Piru Gainza Tournament has arrived, the ninth already, and it seems it was only yesterday that we set out to organize a soccer base tourney in Basauri. Our idea was to progressively improve the level of the tournament and we believe we’ve fully accomplished this objective and we understand that to date it is one of the reference Tournaments held in the Basque Country and perhaps even in the rest of the State.

There are six teams participating in the Cadet category, divided into 2 groups of 3 teams each. After each match, there’s a 5 shot penalty shoot-out. The first to qualify from each group plays the Final and the runners-up playoff for 3rd and 4th Place.

Group A: Basauri Team, Espanyol, Girondins from Bordeaux.
Group B: Athletic Club, Real Sociedad S.A.D., Zaragoza.
