A training match in Covaleda

Athletic Club’s Premier Team played a match which lasted just over an hour in the morning training session held on Friday, 27 July in Covaleda.

Coach Joaquín Caparrós put two teams together, the white team comprising of; Lafuente; Iraola, Aitor Ocio, Ustaritz, Expósito; Etxeberria, Muñoz, Tiko, David López; Llorente and Aduriz, and the red team comprising of; Raúl, Zubiaurre, Prieto, Sarriegi, Casas; Cuéllar, Murillo, Gurpegi, Gabilondo; Susaeta and Jon Vélez.

Before the break Dañobeitia was sent in to replace Casas forcing Gabilondo to go cover the left wing. During the second half Orbaiz stepped in for Tiko and Prieto did the same for Ustaritz, in the white team, Tiko was then sent to join the red team and play in the centre midfield position and Murillo in the centre-back position. Just before the end of the clash Susaeta changed teams by going to play for the whites and Llorente was sent to play for the reds. Aduriz scored the only goal of the match towards the end of the match.

A new training session is foreseen for the afternoon.
