The President’s Press Conference. Video

Athletic Club President, Fernando García Macua offered a press conference last Tuesday, 18 March at 19:45 hours at the Ibaigane Press Conference Room to assess the RFEF Competition Committee’s decision to finalize the unfinished League encounter between Real Betis and Athletic Club with the score of 1-2.

The Competition Committee has rejected the appeal to play what was left of the match for the following reasons:
a) A player was assaulted.
b) Athletic Club had already made three changes.
c) On the basis that both sides should be able to participate under the same conditions without being affected by any external factors to the competition.
d) On the basis that it’s the responsibility of the Host Club to avoid incidents.
