The Athletic Club “Fundazioa” Foundation has set into motion a new activity called “Aula Lezama Berbetan”. It has to do with a series of proposals and round table discussions, to be held over the next three seasons, where issues regarding Athletic Club’s football base will be raised and debated.

Such issues ranging from the signing on of players to training methodology, as well as the work being done in injury prevention, the specific nature of women’s football and, of course, the model of competitiveness that represents the Athletic Club philosophy.

All in all there will a total of fifteen talks and round table discussions where, along with the professionals from Lezama, the most important international specialists in each field will also be present. Furthermore, with the aim of exchanging mutual and enriching experiences, for most of the themes an expert in the same subject matter of another sport will be present as well.

The general outline of the program “Aula Lezama Berbetan” was presented on Wednesday, 5 November at 10:00 hours, in the Ibaigane Palace Press Conference Room by Luis Solar, Coordinator at Lezama, Josean Lekue, Head of Medical Services and Fernando Zubizarreta, General Director of Bilbao Kirolak, with the aim, on the very same day, of holding the program’s first session.

The first session, which will start at 18:00 hours, will be about “The prevention of injury in the lower division categories” and Josean Lekue (Head of Athletic Club’s Medical Services), Juanma Santisteban (Athletic Club Medical Services) and Manuel Chamorro (Real Madrid Medical Services) will be the speakers.

“Aula Lezama Berbetan” is an activity organised by the Athletic Club “Fundazioa” Foundation with the collaboration of Bilbao Kirolak, Viajes Iberia, Dekonner, Ein Prosit, EUDEL and the Escuela Vasca del Deporte (Basque Institute of Sport). The attendance for the round tables is open to the public and is free of charge.
