Euskara in Sport

The Athletic Club Foundation, Itzarri Knowledge Management, Bilbao City Council and the Biscay Federation of Parents’ Associations (BIGE) have set into motion a variety of workshops to promote and stimulate the use of Euskara among children.

The objective of this initiative is to strengthen the use of Euskara in schools, not only in what’s purely academic but also in other important areas for students such as sports and new technologies, among which are Internet or social networking.

Ana de Castro (Councilwoman for Euskara of the Bilbao City Council), Ana Bridge (President of BIGE), Jose Iribar Angel (representing Athletic Club Fundazioa Foundation) and Koikili Lertxundi (Athletic Club to player and Itzarri director), presented the different workshops on Tuesday, 28 April.
