Athletic Club would like to clarify before its members and fans some details about the presence of Frente Atlético in Saturday’s match.

1. – Athletic Club, just as it does with the rest of Clubs, received a request for 500 tickets from Atlético Madrid. We allocated them the security area that is under the video-scoreboard which has just over two hundred seats, those that are sent to them after receiving information from the Atlético Madrid security coordinator considering that they were not going to be given to groups such as the Frente Atlético.

2. – In the security meeting celebrated Thursday, as appears in the report, the Athletic Club security coordinator, which is part of the Basque Government’s Department of the Interior, specifically states that after communicating with the Atlético Madrid security coordinator, who is part of the Interior Ministry, he assured him that no information existed that gave way to thinking that groups such as Frente Atlético would attend.

3. -Contrarily, on Friday, information is received at Ibaigane from Atlético Madrid in the sense that they had sold part of the tickets to Frente Atlético. The Club notifies the Ertzaintza (Police) because, once the tickets are in circulation, it’s up to the Interior Dept. to decide whether a specific person or group can access the stadium. And it is responsibility of those in charge of security. The Club in that case does not have any authority. The Ertzaintza evaluates the security situation on the spot and considers that there is no problem for these people to gain access the field.

4. – This conduct will require that Athletic Club adopt measures in relation to Atlético Madrid’s attitude in future.
