Player Ander Herrera, who will be joining Athletic Club as of 1 July 2011, has made some declarations on our following web page: “I’d like to express my satisfaction with Athletic Club for signing me up, a club and a team that is not new to me, and a city that has undeniable ties that unite me and my family”.
Also Ander pointed out that “it’s logical that from now until I join the team, that my priority over the next four months is to give Zaragoza my all, a club that up until now has given me a lot of things and with whom I not only have a professional tie, but a sentimental one as well, the priority is to stay alive and remain in First Division, just like my current team-mates, coaches, managers and fans deserve”.
In this sense he considers that it would be a personal achievement to be able to finish off the season well in the Aragaonese capital : “From the admiration that I have towards a crowd like that at San Mamés, I’m aware that over the next four months I’m going to have to earn their respect and appreciation and that such knowledgeable fans will be evaluating me especially my commitment and dedication to Real Zaragoza in the right measure. The opportunity to talk about the future will come later”.
