Passion for the Red-Whites continues growing despite the distance, and to prove it we have the recent creation of a new athletic club supporters’ club in the province of Jaen, in the city of Úbeda to be precise, which back in the 80’s already had a supporters’ club that disappeared for some reason or other.
A group of young enthusiasts of our Athletic decided to take over from where the old supporters’ club left off, some twenty years later, in 2009 and it was on the 13 May 2009 when this new supporters’ club was officially founded.
The twinning will commence in Bailen on 3 April 2011 with a football match, to be played between the veteran teams of both supporters’ clubs in the redesigned municipal stadium ’19 de Julio’ at 11 hours. Following the encounter a visit to the Bailen Supporters’ Club’s Headquarters will be conducted where the exchange of plaques to commemorate this twinning will take place and afterwards a luncheon will be enjoyed.
The twinning will be concluded in the month of May, the date has not been determined yet, in the city of Úbeda, with the 2nd leg veteran match and lunch that will put the finishing touches to the twinning between these two noble Red-White supporters’ clubs, Bailen being one of the most bizarre and oldest clubs and ‘the lions of Úbeda’ the youngest member of the large Red-White family.
All the red-white supporters’ clubs in the Southern Association and all those who’d like to come, from the different zones of the International Athletic Club Supporters’ Club Federation are invited.
