Athletic Club’s electoral Board’s Communiqué

The Electoral Board having met at its domicile, Ibaigane Palace, Alameda de Mazarredo number 23 in the Town of Bilbao to exercise its authority and as the body entrusted to safeguard the correct evolution of the electoral process, in accordance with article 72 of the Club’s statutes, hereby informs the Athletic Club members of the following:

1. – That the media has known of the existence of alleged documents for the gathering of signatures concerning the candidates for the Presidency and Board in the upcoming elections, publishing these in El Correo on May 20, 2011 on page 70, Biscayan edition.

2. – The Electoral Board hereby informs that the circulation of the above-mentioned documents can suppose a very serious infringement of the Club’s voting rules given that the election call still has not taken place and the consequent presentation of the Candidates, nor is it an official model that has been approved by the Electoral Board.

3. – Legally speaking and with regards to the Presidential and Board Member electoral procedure, Members are reminded that references will only be considered valid if the Club’s official forms, that the Club will send, are used, in which apart from a signature, names, surnames, current ID card and Membership number are needed, and must be approved by the Electoral Board in accordance with every electoral procedure.

4. – The Electoral Board reminds Members that any candidate proposal that is lodged on a paper that has not been approved officially by the Electoral Board and issued by the Club, or lodged out of time as stipulated in article 73 of the Club Statutes will be declared void.
