Athletic Club’s Board of directors, would like to inform all Members that tonight, at 12 midnight, Saturday, 28 May 2011, in accordance with the agreement reached during the meeting held on 25 May, that its board functions have ceased resulting in the constitution of the Club’s Administrative Committee in accordance with article 68 of the Statutes.

Members are reminded that the Administrative Committee is constituted by members of the Board as stipulated in the current Statutes and that this committee will act as the Board, carrying out its duties until the winning Candidacy takes over following the electoral process that commences tomorrow, 29 May.

Therefore, in strict compliance with the statutory norm, the Administrative Committee will perform it duties as of 12 midnight on Sunday, 29 May. Administrative, governing and representative duties that statutorily correspond to the Board of directors, limiting itself only to those necessary and indispensable duties for the maintenance of the Club’s normal activities and protection of the Club’s best interests, all of which is to be done in keeping with the already mentioned article 68 of the Club Statutes.

The Administrative Committee’s function of calling for Elections in order to elect a new Board of directors, is not valid in the case whereby a call has already been made by the Board of directors, that is done at the end of its mandate, in accordance with article 70 of the Club Statutes.

Furthermore, Club Members are reminded that in all aspects relating to the impulse of the electoral process and it’s correct running that this is a duty statutorily entrusted to the Club’s Electoral Board, who, in accordance with the items in article 72 of the Statute will have, as a minimum, the following functions:

a) Approval of the Electoral Roll.
b) Announcement and Publication of the candidacies lodged.
c) Appointment of the group who will preside over the polling station on Election Day.
d) Announcement of the elected candidates.
e) Resolution of objections, complaints and petitions upon presentation.
