The Athletic Club team wore black armbands in memory of the recently departed Juan Antonio Deusto. Raimundo Pérez Lezama, former goalkeeper at our club who also played for Southampton FC also passed away only four days ago.

(15′) Almost at the 15-minute mark and though Athletic is dominating, there are no goal-scoring opportunities.
(16′) Castillo’s centre just misses.
(22′) 0-1. GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAL. Gabilondo takes the foul kick masterfully that goes into the goalmouth.
(23′) Herrera shoots with his right from outside the area, deflected.
(25′) Balogun has a chance but his header just misses.
(28′) Gabilondo has an opportunity in front of the goalie, but doesn’t manage to score.
(33′) A great header by Llorente that is cleared from under the posts by a defender.
(35′) 1-1. Phipil Bargfred draws with a volley.
(37′) 1-2. GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAL. Toquero scores with the right after receiving a pass from David López.
(39′) A volley by Ander Herrera that the goalie clears.

(28′) Susaeta’s individual move ends in a shot at goal that goes out. Afterwards, Ustaritz’s finishing header misses.
(35′) 0-1. GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAL. Following the shots taken by Susaeta and De Marcos, Igor Martínez makes the most of the goalie’s clearance to score the goal.
(39′) Igor Martínez can’t finish off Athletic’s good counter attack move, as the ball is caught by the goalkeeper.
(40′) Ustaritz puts an end to a dangerous ball.
(45′) The local goalie steps forward to finish off. No result.
(47′) 0-2. GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAL. Following a great play, Iraola scores with the ball going over the goalie’s head. The match ends. Athletic Club takes home the Memorial Cup.
