Aitor Ocio’s Surgery

Aitor Leisure: The player Aitor Ocio went a three-hour surgery on Thursday morning, 1 December 2011, to repair the femora-acetabular injury he suffered on his right hip. The intervention has been carried out at the USP La Esperanza Clinic in Vitoria and was performed by Dr. Mikel Sanchez and his team, in the presence of Athletic Club’s Medical Services and IMQ. It was performed using arthroscopic surgery and consisted of Osteocondroplasty with Acetabular Labrum Re-fixation and Femoroacetabular Impingement.

The postoperative recovery is moving along with total normality and if there are no complications he will be discharged in 24-48 hours. Next week he will begin his rehabilitation process. His recovery period will range from five to six months.
