Among the recommendations given by the Manchester police department and by United itself for Athletic Club followers we would highlight the following:

-Most places are considered safe. They recommend that followers do not visit taverns or restaurants near the stadium; however, they may visit those in city centre.

– At all of them, it is recommended to consider and respect the norm with regards to the prohibition of alcohol consumption in the street.

– Buses will be able to park in the E2 parking lot and the rest of vehicles are recommended to park in the city parking lots, from where there are many bus lines available to transport fans to the Stadium (Piccadilly Gardens, Main Bus Station)

– Also available is an excellent Metrolink system with regular trams running every 6 minutes from several downtown locations. (The closest stop to Old Trafford Stadium is about five minutes walking distance from the stadium)

– Stadium gates have yet to be confirmed, although they are expected to be E30 or E32 and will be announced on the matchday.

– There will be ‘sniffer dogs’ that are trained to detect flares and fireworks at all accesses. All flares and fireworks are prohibited and any person holding one will be detained.

– NO musical instruments are allowed within the stadium.

– Alcohol consumption is not allowed in the stadium and violation of this rule can carry the immediate detention or expulsion from the stadium. The same rule applies to smoking within Old Trafford.

– It is mandatory that fans respect their assigned seats and not move to others. We request that spectators do not remain permanently standing.

– Flags are allowed in the stadium so long as they are not superior to 2 x 1 metrers (approx). Any placard or flag or the size of a banner can be placed and exhibited in the front rows of the section destined the visitors, although these requests must be sent prior to matchday.

– Visiting fans cannot access stands destined for local fans. Fans that have purchased tickets for those stands will not be able to access the stadium and the price of the tickets will not be reimbursed.

– To be placed next to local team fans in their own areas can suppose expulsion from the field without the possibility of being relocated to a different area.
