On Tuesday, 12 March, the Athletic Club Fundazioa Foundation has presented the documentary football film festival ‘Thinking Football Film Festival’ in the Athletic Club press room of the Lezama facilities. Present in the event were Board members, Jokin Garatea and Yolanda Lazaro, along with the Euskera, Youth and Sports councilman of the City council of Bilbao, Xabin Anuzita.

Thinking Football Film Festival is a documentary football film festival with a social theme that will be taking place between the 29th of April and the 4th of May at Sala BBK in Bilbao. Organized by the Athletic Club Foundation, with the collaboration and sponsorship of Sala BBK and the Bilbao City council, fourteen documentary films will be revealed. These films are not simply about football, they go beyond the game itself to penetrate into the passion and reasons that give football the social importance it has at the beginning of XXL century.

Most of the films that make up the main programme are unpublished in Spain and come from France, Germany, England, United States, Uruguay, Argentina and Sweden.

During the development of the festival, we will count with the presence of a great number of directors or feature characters of these films. Also, the main programme will be completed with an important collection of parallel activities, some of which will be developed prior to the festival, such as the Thinking Football Zinekluba cinema cycle. These will be announced shortly.

The Thinking Football Film Festival counts on the sponsorship support of Hotel Meliá Bilbao and the collaboration of the International Film and Football 11mm Festival, Canal Plus, San Miguel, the University of the Basque Country and the magazines Líbero and Panenka.
