‘L”EQUIP PETIT’
(‘The small team’)
Roger Gómez and Dani Resines
Catalonia, 2012
9 minutes / (O.V. Subtitled)

“L`Equip Petit” is a wonderful short documentary made by the Catalan producer El Cangrejo that tells the story of Margatània, a pre-benjamin (Under8s) team of boys and girls that reach the final of the scholastic league with over two hundred goals and a clean sheet; something that does not prevent them from having self-improvement goals, enjoy every minute and keep dreaming about football.

‘SOKA AFRIKA’
Suridh Hassan
England, 2011
59 minutes / (O.V. Subtitled)

‘Soka Afrika’ tells the challenging stories of two African footballers, the South African Kermit Erasmus and the Cameroonian Ndomo Sabo, and how both followed their football dream. While Erasmus, who played in Europe, and is a rising star from a country strongly focused on football due to the World Cup, Ndomo Sabo fell victim to one of the mafias that deal with young African players. It is a brave illustration of the reality of African footballers, where the border that separates dreams from nightmares is so blurred that it is difficult to find.

‘TOM MEETS ZIZOU’
(‘Tom conoce a Zizou’)
Aljoscha Pause
Germany, 2011
136 minutes / (O.V. Subtitled)

‘Tom meets Zizou’ is a documentary that portrays the career, world vision, dreams and tribulations of one of the greatest promises of German football, Thomas Broich, whom film director Aljoscha Pausche followed and interviewed between 2003 and 2011. Broich, who has been nicknamed ‘Mozart’ or ‘New Netzer’ is a special football player that, as he fulfils his dreams, stops identifying with the world of football. At different stages of his career, from his beginnings in the modest second division Wacker Burghausen, his breakthrough as a star in Borussia Monchengladbach, or his decision to transfer to Australia, the film narrates the unexpected professional and vital evolution of a very special football player.
