Third day of Thinking Football
Film director Miguel Alcantud is the guest for the third day of the Thinking Football…
Film director Miguel Alcantud is the guest for the third day of the Thinking Football Film Festival, this Thursday, 15 May. Miguel Alcantud is director and scriptwriter of the film “Black Diamonds”, which will be shown at 20:30 hours. It is a brave fictional film that denounces the terrible social and human problem of the traffic of football players throughout history that could very well be real, that of the players Mali Amadou and Moussa. These two young fifteen-year olds arrive in Europe with the dream of becoming football stars and they will be caught in the networks of player trafficking, turning their dream in to a nightmare. The film is written and directed by the film director Miguel Alcantud, who previously investigated and researched the whole process on the trafficking of players.
Prior to that, at 18:30 hours that same day, the 15th May, the documentary “The two Escobars” will be shown. This documentary is a chronicle of how the drug traffickers dominated and destroyed Colombian football at one of its better moments in history, which tells the story of two characters who only had one thing in common, their last name: drug trafficker Pablo Escobar and football player Andrés Escobar, who was assassinated after his own-goal in the U.S.A. 94. “The two Escobars” is one of best football documentaries of all times, performed by the Zimbalist brothers (who are currently directing the biopic on Pelé) for the prestigious program ’30 for 30′ of the North American network ESPN.
All screenings will take place at Sala BBK, with free entrance while seating is available.
