After the counting of the votes of the public that attended the 2018 Thinking Football Film Festival, the Fundación Athletic Club is pleased to announce that the film winning the 2018 Thinking Football Public Prize is “Kenny”, directed by Stewart Sugg.

The prize will be handed over at the opening of the 2019 edition.

‘Kenny’ tells the unique story of a man whose life and career became entwined with the fortunes of his adopted city, Liverpool. Known as ’The King’, Kenny Dalglish was revered by fans of the Reds during his time at Liverpool FC, where as a player and manager he amassed no fewer than 27 trophies. However, arguably his greatest challenge came after the Hillsborough tragedy in 1989, in which 96 Liverpool fans died. After that, Kenny Dalglish became a beacon of hope and strength in the fight for justice for the victims. Uplifting, powerful, funny, but at times truly heartbreaking, this is the portrait of a proud Scotsman who captured the hearts of everyone on Merseyside.
