Athletic Club in the Deia Kirol Sariak

There was a great environment in the new auditorium of the Euskalduna Palace, prepared on this occasion to host the XLI Deia Kirol Sariak, the presentation of the annual prizes of the newspaper of Bilbao to recognize the best Basque sportsmen and women of the last twelve months. The Athletic Club also had its place among the winners.

Lucía García Córdoba continues to enrich her private collection, in this case by receiving the trophy of the Best Player of the Athletic Club in 2018. Deia also wanted to recognize the work of our Club in favor of women’s football and also wanted to have a recognition for the 48,121 people who filled San Mames on the 30th of January surpassing the record of attendance in the Cup match against Atlético. Erika Vázquez and the coach Joseba Agirre collected a distinction that is undoubtedly shared and extensible with all the entities and clubs in our environment that continue to work every day for women’s football.

Our first men’s team was also well represented in the Deia Kirol Sariak. Raúl García received the Regularity Award, Aritz Aduriz the Safest Player Award and Markel Susaeta the Last Pass Award. The captain also had his own special tribute for his recently completed 500 official matches.

The Athletic Club delegation also counted with the presence of the president Aitor Elizegi, accompanied for the occasion by several members of its Board of Directors: Iker Goñi, Itziar Villamandos, Tomás Ondarra, Begoña Castaño, Óscar Beristain, Óscar Arce and Goyo Arbizu; in representation of Athletic Club Foundation Manolo Delgado and Juan Carlos Ercoreca also attend the event.
