Bakuva Project: end-of-season party

The nearly 50 boys and girls from the youngest and junior’s teams of Bakuva have celebrated the annual end-of-season party in Ibaigane this Thursday.

The nearly 50 boys and girls from the youngest and junior’s teams of Bakuva, accompanied by their coaches and technicians from the Athletic Club Foundation, have celebrated the annual end-of-season party in Ibaigane this Thursday. Since 2013, the Athletic Club Foundation has been collaborating with the Bakuva Association to help minors at risk of social exclusion in the surroundings of Bilbao la Vieja to achieve their full social integration.

The Bakuva teams compete in school competitions and twice a week they train in facilities provided by Bilbao Kirolak, sessions directed by Athletic Club’s volunteer coaches and technicians from the Foundation. Their home matches are played in Lezama.

As Cristina Bilbao, Sports Coordinator of the Bakuva Association, has pointed out, “The incorporation of football activity thanks to the Athletic Foundation has been a great complement because children were very excited about playing football. To be able to go to Lezama and have coaches from the Foundation and Athletic is a luxury and we are delighted, indeed, and the children are amazed”.
