For the first time in its history, the Cádiz CF summer trophy will be eminently feminine
Athletic Club will be one of the teams that will compete this year in an historic Carranza Trophy. For the first time in the 65 years of this classic tournament organised by Cadiz CF there will be only and exclusively female participation. In addition to the team directed by Ángel Villacampa, Real Betis, CD Tacón and Tottenham Hotspur FC are also invited.
Ramon de Carranza will host this quadrangular tournament on 12, 13 and 14 August. On Monday the red-and-white team will kick off with the first semifinal against the Tacón from Madrid. On Tuesday it will be the turn for the match between Betis and Tottenham. The final will be played on Wednesday 14. It will be a demanding and attractive duel before the First Division Pro competition starts on September 8.
After the dispute of the Trophy Carranza will arrive new commitments of preparation. On Sunday 18 August Athletic will face Osasuna in Medina de Pomar at 12 noon. On Saturday 24 August, the final of the IX Euskal Herria Kopa will be held against the Real Sociedad in the Garmendipe field in Azkoitia. A week later, on Saturday 31st, Athletic will play a friendly against Eibar on the Unbe pitch.
