Athletic remembered its deceased in Begoña

A representation of the Club has visited the Basilica of Begoña to make the traditional offering to the Amatxu and to remember the members who died during this year. President Aitor Elizegi and the captains of the first two teams, Iker Muniain and Ainhoa Tirapu, have acted as representatives of the entity to carry out the offering and deliver the speeches accompanied by the Parish Priest of the Basilica, José Luis Atxotegi.

Muniain and Tirapu have placed on the altar a ball, a red and white t-shirt and the League trophy won by the women’s team in 2016. Aitor Elizegi has made a promise based on “commitment, loyalty and hard work to try to return with a trophy,” and has asked the Virgin “health both for the squad and for all those who make up the squad of Athletic Club”. In his mention of the members who have left us this year, Elizegi had a special memory for Koldo Aguirre, who died last July.
