Garitano: “We got a well-earned point”

Gaizka Garitano has been satisfied with the tie to one against Getafe CF in the match of the second matchday of La Liga Santander 2019-20. The red-and-white coach has recognized the equality between both during the ninety minutes: “We would have liked to win, but I think the draw was correct. We started very well, especially with Capa and De Marcos hurting on that flank. Their injury has been a pity. In the second half we saw that it was hard for both teams to beat their opponents”.

Garitano has emphasized the good work of his players against a rival that competes this year in Europe: “Getafe usually generates a lot and today it has done little and that has also been for our work. This is a field in which not many score and where you have to be very good in defence.” Despite the parity, the coach highlighted the ambition of his team: “The changes have been to win. We took Aduriz out with Willy delaying Raul to go higher, but the set-pieces have not been good either and we could not take advantage of all the tall people we had on the field.”
