Intense activity weekend in Lezama

Football never stops for the Athletic Club youth academy and last weekend was especially intense in the Lezama facilities for our men’s and ladies’ categories.

Bilbao Athletic tied 0-0 against CD Calahorra on Saturday afternoon, after debuting last week with a victory in Haro in Group II of the Second Division B. CD Basconia was unable to score in Deusto and lost 1-0 after conceding an early goal that he could not overcome despite his attempts.

The two juvenile teams faced their last friendly matches before making their official debut next weekend. In Itxasgane, the Honorary Division team scored 1-6 against Bermeo FT, thanks to the doubles of Nico Serrano and Hernández and the goals of Manex and Telletxea. On the other hand, the National Youth tied without goals against CD Oberena.

It was against the Navarrese club that Cadets A scored 7-1 in Lezama, thanks to Ekhi’s hat-trick, as well as goals from Kerman, Lander, Sanchez and Santolaya. Cadets B, also in a friendly match, drew 2-2 against UD Montecarlo, with goals from Ibon Trujillano and Adrián Cisneros. In the Youths category, San Mamés 06 drew 1-1 against UD Montecarlo 05, against whom Alirón 06 won 1-0.

Concerning our ladies’ teams, Women B lost 3-1 to Real Racing Club despite Ana Urzainqui’s goal, in the first pre-season defeat for the team led by Iraia Iturregi. Athletic Club Women C, which this season will compete in the Territorial category, scored 0-4 against CD Lakua (goals from Nagore, Noa, Leire Egia and Naia San Emeterio). Finally, the Cadets defeated SD Ariz 0-2 in Soloarte with two goals from Sara.
