Villacampa: ‘We’re looking forward to meeting our people again’

Athletic Club ladies’ coach, eager to provide the first victory of the season against Madrid CFF (Sunday, 12.00 noon)

Athletic Club ladies’ coach Angel Villacampa is looking forward to what will be his team’s home debut in domestic competition. The red-and-white coach does not think about the defeat against Levante and is grateful ‘that football always offers a new opportunity. We’re looking forward to getting rid of the defeat from the other day. We want everyone who comes here to be proud of the work that my players do on a daily basis and, above all, in competition.

The Madrid CFF will be the rival of the red-and-white squad, a team that has been strengthened significantly this summer: ‘It seems like everyone is racing to see who signs more foreign players but we are not afraid and encouraged to be better every day,’ says Villacampa, who hopes that his team ‘will be the protagonist in the match and give speed to the game.

All available players are called for tomorrow except Nekane, who suffered a muscle injury on Sunday against Levante, Yulema Corres, who has been dragging stomach problems this week and Oihane Valdezate, who will play with the reserve team tomorrow in Pozuelo.

Thus, the list is made up of the next 20 players:

Ainhoa Moraza, Ainhoa Álvarez, Ainhoa Tirapu, Andrea de la Nava, Andrea Sierra, Garazi Murua, Maite Oroz, Jone Ibáñez, Andere Legina, Eunate Arraiza, Marta Unzué, María Diaz, Lucía García, Marta Perea, Leia Zarate, Vanesa Gimbert, Ane Azkona, Erika Vázquez, Oihane Hernández and Damaris Egurrola.
