Positive weekend for our youth academy

One more weekend, the red-and-white youth academy has had a frenetic activity both in the facilities of Lezama and at home, which has also been reinforced by the start of the official competition for Cadets A.

Bilbao Athletic could recover from its previous home defeat by beating Salamanca CF 4-0 thanks to Artola’s double in the first half and goals from Vivian and Sancet in the final of the second half; this triumph takes them to seven points after four rounds in Group II of the Second B Division. On the other hand, Basconia lost out in Maiona against Santutxu FC by a 1-0, which also meant a fourth round after which they continued with four points in Group IV of the Third Division.

The Juniors A remains unbeatable in the start of the Honour Division, as after scoring Mutilva 1-5 in the debut two weeks ago, this weekend SD Leioa lost 3-0 in Lezama; two goals by Nico Serrano and another by Lopez Goti made it possible. The Juniors B also maintains the full score in the National League, after winning against Beasain 1-4, with goals from Ibai Asenjo and Luis Bilbao.

The Cadets A team started its participation in the Basque League winning 0-5 in Indautxu with five different scorers: Ekhi, Ieltxu, Peña, Sánchez and Montero, while Cadets B, who does not make his debut in the Honour Division until October, is still in pre-season and won 1-6 in Gernika with two goals from Urtzi Albizua, and one from Ibon Trujillano, Peio Canales, Asier Hierro and Ander Varona.

Athletic Club ladies’ team

Concerning our lionesses, the great match and victory of the First Team was combined with the victory of the filial team by 0-1 in Pozuelo de Alarcón, thanks to the goal of Amaia García that makes them add six points out of six possible in the Reto Iberdrola Norte league to those directed by Iraia Iturregi. Women C, that is still in preseason, rested while the Cadets, also in preparation waiting for the official competition to begin in October, tied 1-1 in Tolosa with goal of Haizea.
