Villacampa: “Our aim is to start adding points in threes”

After the win against Real Madrid CFF, Athletic’s manager wants to get a new victory against Valencia CFF in Paterna on Sunday (11:30 a.m.)

Athletic Club Women’s Team’s manager, Angel Villacampa, has expressed his ambition regarding Primera Iberdrola Matchday 3, where the red-and-white team will play against Valencia CFF in Paterna on Sunday (11:30 p.m.): “We would like to link a series of victories. We know the team offers a better version of themselves at home than when they play away, but we have to be steadier and start adding points in threes to fight for the position on the table we want.”

The manager is still looking for the optimal girls’ performance: “The team is not the way I like yet. Our playing style involves physical strength, a lot of pressure on the opponent’s side and a faster speed than the one we displayed the other day. We are really ambitious and we certainly want to achieve more.”

Not all the players can give 100% at the moment. Yulema Corres, Nekane and María Diaz cannot be called up due to different injuries. So the call-up list comprises the following 18 players: Ainhoa Moraza, Ainhoa Álvarez, Ainhoa Tirapu, Andrea Sierra, Andrea de la Nava, Garazi Murua, Maite Oroz, Jone Ibáñez, Eunate Arraiza, Marta Unzué, Lucía García, Marta Perea, Leia Zarate, Vanesa Gimbert, Ane Azkona, Erika Vázquez, Oihane Hernández, and Damaris Egurrola.
