Vesga: “Rivalry is good for the team”

The red-and-white midfielder, head of the last match of the League, aims to recover against Valladolid, the path to victory at the League.

Athletic Club is getting ready for their return to the League competition – Sunday, 18.30h, San Mamés – against Real Valladolid after the last weekend off. After the first of the two training sessions -the team exercises again, in Lezama at 18:30 h, Mikel Vesga faced the media.

The midfielder, from Gasteiz, head of the last match of the League, considered his performance as follows: “I’m happy, every day I feel better. My idea is to keep working as hard as possible to make things difficult for the manager and teammates because rivalry is good for the group. I’m happy to play my minutes, but like everyone else, the game left me with a bad taste because what matters here is the team”.

Despite the last two defeats, Vesga is determined to recover the good streak of results they enjoyed during the first days: “Many teams would love to be in our situation and on Sunday we will do our best and fight for the match. I think the team has shown solidity since the League began and the results of these last two games cannot destabilize us. We’re a committed team that’s very difficult to beat.
