Lightening to support the cause

Athletic Club supports families with a patient suffering from Phelan-McDermid Syndrome.

Every year on October 22, Phelan-McDermid Syndrome Day is celebrated worldwide. A rare disease with only just over 2,500 patients all around the world.

The disease is caused by the loss of a small piece of chromosome 22. This means that patients suffer from developmental delays in sensitive areas, especially speech and language use delays.

Athletic Club wants to join the cause and lightened San Mamés for the families affected Phelan-McDermid Syndrome, and for those that works on research and treatments, to find out an early diagnosis and better insight into the disease.
