It is said that football can be summed up in goals, and Athletic has had many players with an innate ability in their DNA to achieve them. All of the players are part of a variety that is especially valued in this sport: the scorer one. Telmo Zarra, the highest scorer in the club’s history with 335 goals, has shone more than any other.
To exceed 100 goals in a single club is an achievement. A legend like Pichichi was not able to do so, although we must value that the 83 goals he scored were achieved in just 89 games, almost a goal per game… available to very few.
In the current squad, is Aritz Aduriz who appears in this list of scorers with more than 100 goals. The player from Donostia is in sixth place with 172 goals, 7 behind José Iraragorri.
