A month and a half to find their place in the table

The women’s first team will face one and a half months of competition after the break against teams that they can leave behind in the table.

Athletic Club Women’s team are at the second international break of the season, the last before the Christmas break. It has been a short week for Villacampa’s side, who came back from Tenerife on Monday and have had several absences in their training sessions because of the international commitments. Lucía García, who has been called up to play for the Spanish National team, is due to be back on Wednesday 13, given that their fixture against Polonia in Lublin is scheduled for Tuesday 12.

Winning to CD Tacón next weekend is the main objective of the red-and-white team. The match will kick off on Sunday 17, at 12pm at Lezama. Athletic Club have only six league matches left to finish the year. Three of their rivals are currently below the lionesses in the standings, while the other three are sitting above. CD Tacón, who have only registered 5 points in total, and Sevilla and Sporting de Huelva, with 6 points.

During the long weekend in December, the Red and Whites will visit Atlético de Madrid’s grounds. Prior to that match, they will face Rayo Vallecano and CDEF Logroño. The teams from Madrid and La Rioja have both 14 points and they are in fourth and fifth spot, respectively. The following one and a half months will be of vital importance and as they will determine the team’s prospects in the standings.
