Athletic Club will know its first opponent at Copa del Rey next Sunday. The introductory round of the tournament starts tomorrow.
La Copa del Rey 2019-20 starts tomorrow an introductory round with the different regional federations. The new edition has a novel format. The 10 winning teams will access on Sunday, November 17th (12:30h) a draw where Athletic Club will take part.
The lions (within Group E) could face one of those 10 teams (Group A) in the first round; one team from group B (21 clubs from Third Division and 4 semi finalists of Copa RFEF (Coruxo FC, CD Tudelano, CD Castellón and Real Murcia CF) or one of the 28 teams of Second B, Group C.
The first qualifying round of La Copa, single-round (system that will be maintained until the semifinals, where the usual two-round games will be played), will be held on December, 17th, 18th and 19 at the facilities the Club has for lower categories, so Athletic Club will play its first match away from San Mames.
