Ane Azkona, a great example of commitment
The striker from Navarre and her first performance under Iraia Iturregi was key to beat Barça last weekend.
Last weekend, Ane Azkona scored two goals and made a shot ending up in another goal, during day 9th of Reto Iberdrola Norte. Her excellent work let Athletic Club B surpass FC Barcelona B under the pouring rain. The players, led by Iraia Iturregi won 3-1 and are ranked fourth, drawing with the second team of the classification. She made it after a week of training with the recently created Spanish Promesas, with Maite Oroz and Damaris Egurrola.
The striker has become one of the highlights of the first team. She knew and seized all the leaves the squad is suffering, and made an enormous contribution against Real Betis. However, the one from Navarre does not get discouraged is she needs to play within the filial; a situation she shares with Valdezate and Oihane Hernández, players of the second team as well. Azkona is happily facing her bright start of the season and is indeed a great example of commitment
