The match between Athletic Club and CD Tacón has been called off

The referee recorded the calling-off of the game in the score sheet due to the non-appearance of the players who had joined the strike

The fixture corresponding to the ninth matchweek in the Primera Iberdrola, where Athletic Club and CD Tacón were to play each other today at 12.00 pm at Lezama, Field 2, had to be called off. The refereeing trio, led by Eugenia Gil, have signed the match score sheet noting down the absence of the players of both teams, reason why the match could not be kicked off. Both the hosts’ and the visitors’ coaching staff presented their licences from the Federation and read the score sheet in situ afterwards.

The players of Athletic and CD Tacón have decided to join the strike called by unions AFE, FutbolistasON and UGT, under the Article 28 of the Constitution, which recognises the right of workers to strike in defence of their interests.

On their part, Athletic Club places a great value on the solidarity their players have shown with the situation other female counterparts are coping with, and puts in a constant effort to match their footballers’ professional level to fair and adequate conditions of employment.
