On 20 November, Universal Children’s Day is celebrated around the world. A Universal day that aims to remember children’s ́ right to adequate protection, education and health.

On 20 November 1959, the United Nations adopted the Declaration of the Rights of the Child at a general assembly. Since it was not binding at the time, it was necessary to take a step forward and it was not until 20 November 1989, 30 years ago, that the Convention on the Rights of the Child was adopted. This was a binding regulation for all the countries that signed the treaty.

UNICEF, the United Nations Children’s Fund, invites everyone to collaborate on a day like today in order to remember the importance of working towards the well-being of all the children.
