Elderly people from Residencia Barandiaran of Durango have visited today San Mamés in new edition of the Reminiscence Workshops
A dozen people with neurodegenerative diseases from the Residencia Barandiaran of Durango took participated this Thursday in a new edition of Reminiscence Workshops organized by the FEAFV (Spanish Federation of Veteran Footballers Associations), with the collaboration of the AEA (Association of Athletic Club Ex-Footballers) and the Athletic Club Foundation.
The day of reminiscence consisted of a guided tour of the Club Museum and a later tour of the San Mamés field. The old memories of the elderly emerge from the stimuli associated with their experiences with Athletic and serve as a stimulus to combat Alzheimer’s disease. The ex-footballers who have accompanied the elderly during the therapy have been José Ángel Iribar, president of AEA, Tzibi Juaristi, Pablo Otaolea and Gontzal Suances, in his double condition of ex-player and representative of the Athletic Club Foundation.
