The president of Athletic Club, Aitor Elizegi, looked back to the last 12 months, which became the first year of his managing board in Ibaigane
Athletic Club’s president, Aitor Elizegi, showed up in the media at midday today in the Jose Iragorri press room in San Mamés, where he took stock of the first year of his board of directors in Ibaigane. “It has been 12 months in which we are very proud to have been part of this project. We have defended these three values on a daily basis and in all areas: effort, perseverance and commitment“, summarised Elizegi.
The President stressed the work that his team has done in the social area of the Club, where the focus has been on the member. In this sense, Elizegi has valued the spaces created by Athletic to listen and maintain constant contact with them: “Bazkideen Hitza and Bisitatu Lezama are listening tools where the Club and those who make it possible, the members, share opinions, suggestions and experiences that will always enrich Athletic“.
The red and white president also referred to the San Mamés animation grandstand, where he showed his commitment to rearrange and unify the animation lights in the same space: “It is right to bring them together and have them all pushing from the same space in the stadium. In Europe there are great examples of this and Athletic cannot renounce to it“.
Regarding the institutional aspect, Elizegi has highlighted the work carried out by his team to carry Athletic’s name and word “wherever it is needed“. “Athletic is League, Federation and UEFA, and it needs to be represented in all of them. With the opinion and way of doing things differently that we have, but we must be there“.
As far as the economic aspect is concerned, the president has recalled that his board “has fulfilled the budgetary word it gave“, and has explained that the Club always works to create a stability between “a competitive staff, a Lezama with a bright future and daily income that is closer every day to those the great European Clubs get “.
Elizegi also emphasized Lezama’s project: “The new building of the first will make the residence for those players in training possible, which is fundamental for our values as a youth team“. Regarding the Foundation, the president has underlined its increasing importance in the daily life of the Club, where “it has multiplied its presence and serves to return to society the support Athletic has always received from it“.
Finally, the president of Athletic Club has congratulated each one of the red and white teams for the great work they have done during the last year, and especially the teams of Iraia Iturregi, Joseba Etxeberria, Angel Villacampa and Gaizka Garitano: “We are sowing to be able to harvest, and this is how it is being done. The subsidiaries are working well, they are training and nurturing our first staff. I have to thank the great coordination work of all the sports management and especially of their coaches. They have placed the teams where they deserve to be and have made San Mamés and Lezama unique fields. I wish them a 2020 very similar to the great 2019 they have made.
