Iker Muniain has appeared before the media during the week in which Athletic Club will visit Sevilla FC at the Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán (Friday 3, 9:00 pm). The captain of Athletic valued the year 2019 as being “satisfied” and with data that invites “optimism”, as well as recognising that he expects “the best” for 2020: “We fight to achieve beautiful things, that excite, that inspire hope. It is clear to us that we will have to fight for all this and that we will have to put all our efforts in order to achieve it. Always wanting to improve what we have done and with ambition.”
The lions will have the first obstacle of this 2020 in the Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán against Sevilla FC. A rival that Muniain has catalogued as “direct” and that has started the season at a “very good” level: “We have a good opportunity on Friday to claim ourselves in a very attractive match. We hope that the team can continue in the same line it is in: faithful to a style and strong. We hope that we can score a good point in the Bernabéu and we can win in a very difficult field as Sevilla is.”
Finally, close to celebrating 400 official matches, the player of the Txantrea, after the injury suffered last November 20, advances in the recovery process with optimism: “I feel good, everything is going according to the plan. I am working at a quite high rhythm so that when I rejoin the team I will be able to keep up. I am very happy with the way the whole process has gone,” he admitted while discarding his presence in this Friday’s match against Sevilla FC.
