Athletic awaits rival in the Cup
27 are the possible rivals of the Lions in tomorrow’s draw (1.00 pm) for the round of sixteen of the competition.
Athletic Club will know tomorrow, Tuesday, in the draw that will be held from 1pm onwards, its rival for the round of 16 of the King’s Cup 2019-20. After eliminating CF Intercity and Club Sestao River in the first two qualifying rounds, Gaizka Garitano’s players are now looking forward to a draw with 27 potential opponents.
The 1/16th final round will be played again as a single match in the field of the lower category team (it could only be played at San Mamés in the case that Athletic faces a first division team and that the ball with the name of Athletic Club is the first one extracted for that match) next week between Tuesday 21 and Thursday 23.
The Lions can play against one of the following eight teams from the Second Division (four of them will play against those who have played the Super Cup in the first pairings that will be extracted in the draw), one of these six teams from the Second Division or one of the thirteen teams from the First Division that have gone on to this third round and have not been in the Super Cup (Real Madrid, Atlético de Madrid, FC Barcelona and Valencia CF).
