The two lions made their debut at San Mamés with Athletic Club against Getafe. Raúl García and Larra also made their debut with the red-and-white club against the team from Madrid
Unai Núñez and Iñigo Córdoba made their debut at Athletic Club on the same day, 20 August 2017, against the rival that will receive the lions this Sunday at San Mamés, the Getafe. It happened on the first matchday of the 2017/2018 season, played at The Cathedral, at the command of ‘Cuco’ Ziganda. The match ended with a draw.
Unai Núñez played the 90 minutes in the center of the rear with Aymeric Laporte, while Cordoba came in replacement of Balenziaga in the 88th minute. Portugalete’s central also played the next 16 games, to end the season with 33 league matches played. Córdoba participated in 30 matches in the domestic competition that season.
Debuts of Raúl García and Gaizka Larrazabal
Besides Núñez and Córdoba, Raúl García and Gaizka Larrazabal also played their first minutes with the red-and-white shirt against Getafe. The player from Navarra would do it in the third matchday of the 2015/2016 season, also in San Mamés, and he scored the second goal of the home victory by 3 to 1. On the other hand, Gaizka Larrazabal made his debut in the second matchday of the present season in Alfonso Pérez, replacing the injured De Marcos in the half time. Since then, the player from Bilbao has taken part in seven more La Liga matches.
