From the museum to the box: Getafe CF
AC Museoa will exhibit in the box of San Mamés some objects that recalls the first clash played by Athletic Club and Getafe CF
On Sunday, Getafe CF will visit San Mamés. On the occasion of this meeting, AC Museoa will exhibit in the box of San Mamés several commemorative objects among which is the plaque that the Club from Madrid gave to our club with an engraved shield that says “GETAFE C.F. S.A.D. Al ATHLETIC CLUB in its first visit to ‘Coliseum Alfonso Pérez’ Getafe, 2004, October 2.”, together with the line-ups and the official program of the match.
The first official match between Getafe CF and Athletic Club takes us back to 2004, October 3. It was held in Madrid and it corresponded to the 6th round of La Liga 2004-05, the season of the debut of Getafe in the first division. The result of that first match was 3-1. Despite of that, if we take into account the 29 official matches played between both institutions, all in LaLiga, the statistics are slightly favourable to the red-and-white club.
Thus, data says the lions have won 10 games, 11 drawns and 8 defeats. As for the number of goals scored, they are 32 goals by the lions against 26 by Getafe.
