“It’s now when we should get closer”
Óscar de Marcos, focused in his recovery, highlights the importance of all the members of Athletic family getting together in order to face the upcoming challenges
Óscar de Marcos showed up in Lezama ́s pressroom in a week in which a League match against Villarreal CF will be held in San Mamés (Sunday, 2.00. p.m). While recovering his left ankle, the player from Alava acknowledges he’s eager to go back to the field: “The sooner the better. I just finished the second month of recovering and I am just one month far. I ́ve spend a lot of time watching my mates, at home on TV, or at the stand, and I always have the same feeling, I’m really looking forward to going back to matches. I ́m trying to get back at my best in order to support the team in the best possible way”.
When asked about the last results at the League, De Marcos felt hopeful and turnt things around: “We´ve been getting bad results, but we are on time and we can change and face that. We want to change it the soonest and Sunday´s match is a great chance to do so. Since many of the matches were very much equaled, they could have been won. It ́s true last results were all negative but it is not alarming at all. Changing the dynamic on Sunday would be very positive in order to face Granada, where we also have important things at risk”.
Despite the last results at domestic championship, Athletic will leave a very exciting week and De Marcos calls for unity of all the Athleticzales: “It´s now when we should get closer: the team, the supporters… It’s a very important moment and we all need to be aware of that. It is unavoidable not to feel excited when you’re living things like this, but there are things we need to face before. Being excited is good it keeps you active, but we need to get our feet on the ground. Sunday ́s match is important and after it, we will think ahead.”
