Iñaki Williams: “I hope everything is back to normal soon”

The forward answered the questions asked by the supporters and the media #FromHome

#FromHome, Iñaki Williams has answered the questions both the supporters and the media have asked him via Athletic Club’s social networks. The red-and-white forward talked about his training plans given the impossibility of working out at Lezama: “Not being able to train as usual forces us to take better care of ourselves. We’re sticking to the plan the fitness coaches and Toscana, our dietitian, have set up for us to try to keep the right weight until we get back.” He added that all the players have been given a personalised programme and they are “strictly adhering to it. We have absolute trust in our medical team and the coaching staff.

Plenty of people have asked about the Copa del Rey final and the forward has not hidden his excitement at the prospect of playing it and coming out as winners. “I dream of winning the Copa final, there is not a single day that thought doesn’t cross my mind. That’s what the whole city of Bilbao and all Athletic’s supporters are dreaming of. I’m eager to play it, and I hope we can bring the Copa home and celebrate it together on the Barge.” He also highlighted the importance of the spectators in this special event: “I cannot conceive the idea of playing a Copa del Rey final without people in the stadium. It will be a memorable day in the Basque Country and we want our people to be there.

On a more personal level, he emphasized how grateful he feels for the status he has been given as an elite footballer but, above all, he confessed being “proud of the fact that people can relate to me and think of me as a good person, someone humble who has made an effort to be here.

Finally, Iñaki wanted to thank the labor of “all those who are taking care of us, all the people who leave their homes to make sure we all have what we need. Thank you, heartfelt thanks to all of you. I hope everything’s back to normal soon and I’d really like to ask everyone to follow the recommendations made by the professionals: #StayHome
