Among the number of videos that you can enjoy on our official YouTube channel, we will turn our attention to the play-off final won by Bilbao Athletic in the year 2015 where they were promoted from Second B to Second Division.
Our reserve team, then managed by José Ángel Ziganda, finished the championship being second in the Group II of the bronze division, behind only SD Huesca. They had defeated CF Villanovense in the first play-off round for the promotion and UCAM Murcia in the second.
The final play-off matched them up against Cádiz CF, who were defeated 2-0 in the first leg at San Mamés thanks to the brace scored by Santamaría within the first 25 minutes of the match. In the second leg, held at Estadio Ramón de Carranza on June 28, local player Jona was the one who opened the scoring. However, when the side from Cádiz were pursuing the goal that would have allowed them to play the extra time, Salinas scored the final 1-1 on 94 minutes, taking Bilbao Athletic back to Second Division 19 years later.
