Íñigo Córdoba answers #FromHome to the questions asked by fans and the media

This week it was the turn of Iñigo Córdoba to answer the questions #FromHome. The player from Deusto answered to the questions that both supporters and the media posed to him through the various official networks of the Club.

Córdoba began by talking about the current situation and highlighting the work of the people on the front line: ‘We are aware that the absolute priority is to beat the virus and to get back to normal as soon as possible. Football is taking a back seat, what matters now is the global situation and the people who are fighting on the front line, lots of encouragement and strength for them’.

When asked about his debut and what it feels like to be a player at Athletic Club, Córdoba answered that ‘being within Athletic is something very special, I’m from Deusto and have been attending San Mames all my life. Right now being able to represent Athletic and live it first hand is something very beautiful’. He remembers his debut at San Mames as something ‘very special and sharing the same date with Nuñez makes it even more beautiful since we have been changing from one category to another since we were 13-14 years old’.

About the possibility of playing in LaLiga with his brother, ‘It is a dream the whole family shares. My brother reaching the first team and being able to share the dressing room with him would be very exciting for me, for him and for the whole family’.

Regarding the final of the Cup (Copa del Rey) he explained that ‘The Federation, Real Sociedad and Athletic have always supported the idea of playing it with the public, that is essential because it is a party. We have to enjoy it, both the players on the field and the supporters at the stands’.

As for the great moment he was living in the team he has pointed out ‘I had been training with the group at a good level for a week, this breaks the streak, but I am working well and strong, getting ready for when football comes back. We are lucky to be surrounded by great professionals who send us personalized plans to prepare and that way the return is as pleasant as possible. We are working well and I am sure we will come back stronger than ever.’

Córdoba also wanted to send a message to all those boys and girls who play football and dream of becoming footballers, ‘They should enjoy football, which is something very beautiful, every time they play they should take it as seriously as possible. They should listen to all the coaches and assistants they have.’
